Today’s Spotlight On… is with Martin Peykov, our Head Chef!
What does your role at the Wyvern Theatre entail?
I am the Head Chef at the Wyvern which involves running the kitchen and the team. I will be working with the Food Development Group from Head Office to change and develop the menu seasonally for pre-show dining. I oversee all the catering for events such as dining events, Murder Mystery, Tea & Tour and conferencing.
How and why did you become a chef?
Cooking has always been my passion and when I left the Military in Bulgaria I decided to pursue a career in hospitality starting as a Commis Chef at a restaurant called Cinema in the Port of Bourgas in Bulgaria.
Why did you choose the Wyvern?
I have been working for the Wyvern in a self-employed capacity cooking for most of the events for the last 7 years so was aware that the Head Chef position had come up so decided to make it permanent!
What can diners expect from our brand-new Spotlight Restaurant and Showstopping Food & Drink menu?
A great, relaxed atmosphere and being able to enjoy a delicious, casual dining experience in our newly refurbished restaurant space. The chance to sample good food and good service and being able to return for the interval to enjoy desserts, coffee and drinks.
What is your favourite item from the new menu?
Chargrilled Pork Cutlet served with sautéed potatoes, fresh spring vegetables and gravy.
