Hospitality Events in 2017 with Kath Wilson

Swindon Theatres run a number of events throughout the year in our restaurant The Place. To find out more about the events that are happening in 2017 we sat down with Assistant Hospitality Manager Kath Wilson to see what’s on in 2017.

At the Circus of Horrors Host event in January, people can have a horror – themed cocktail, what spooky mix can we expect?

Circus of Horrors

Bloody Beetroot Cocktail (beetroot, lemon juice, sugar, aperol and prosecco) – garnished with an eyeball!

That sounds very spooky indeed! In February Mr Bloom’s Nursery is coming to the Wyvern with a Pre  – Show Veggie Party before the show, what is instore at the party?


Veggie themed buffet to include crudités and carrot cake, music, arts and crafts to include veggie colouring and veggie playdough making. There will also be mini margarita pizza’s for children to add their own veggie toppings!

Sounds great! For anyone unfamiliar with The Great Jaydini who is coming in February, what magical experiences are in store?  

Funny, wacky, slapstick comedy magic, disappearing objects and appearing. Laser wand shooting, balloon magic, comedy mind reading magic, plus a Game show called the dice is right!

The Tea & Tour packages have proved very popular as a way of exploring behind the scenes at the theatre, what can children learn about the theatre when they come to the Kids Tea & Tour?  


Visit backstage to explore the secrets of show business, dressing rooms, auditorium and stage!

For anyone who has not been to a Comedy Dinning experience such as Ted & Co The Sitcom what should they prepare for?

Sitcom Experience

A live situation comedy dining experience which unfolds in real time. A hilarious evening of pure theatrical improvisational comedy and caricature. It’s a new parody script – expect new comical mishaps and manic mayhem in this highly interactive dinner show.

If parents need something to entertain their younger children over Easter, what is on offer?  


Kids Easter Party on 12th April – to include bouncy castle, DJ, arts, crafts and a cracking lunchbox.
